Winter Moods are back on radio with a new song. ‘Happy’ is the fourth song from the bands’ most recent album ‘The Journey’. The band also released a video for the song which was filmed during their memorable 30th anniversary concert held in June in Fort St Elmo, which raised €40,300 for Puttinu Cares. The video can be viewed here.
Happy is different from Winter Moods’ previous releases – the mood and the feel of the song are reminiscent of the band’s critically acclaimed album ‘Morning Ale’ which took the local music scene by storm back in 2000.
“This song reminds us of the great times we had whilst recording ‘The Journey’. It has a certain attitude and although the lyrics are inherently sarcastic, it still carries a positive feel. The song has a strong, distinctive brass presence which is also a rarity in our sound. We all had an extra bit of fun with it at the studio and this is also clearly evident when we perform it live, it just creates a great vibe, the crowd joins in automatically, it’s uplifting,” said Ivan Grech.
‘Happy’ follows in the success of the band’s previous hits; ‘Days of My Life’ ‘Everlasting’ and ‘Flowers & Cash’ all of which topped local charts and are taken from the band’s last album ‘The Journey’ released in March this year.
The music and lyrics of ‘Happy’ are by Ivan Grech. The song is performed by Winter Moods featuring Mark Farrugia on Trumpet and Dennis ‘Kurun’ Camilleri on Trombone. The song was recorded and produced by David Vella at Temple Studios, Mistra, Malta,
The video was filmed and edited by Motion Blur.
Winter Moods are supported by Renault, Hamilton Travel, DAB, BMIT Ltd. and Olimpus Music.
