New and upcoming local band Salt, will be supporting Winter Moods on the 9th of July at the mega concert taking place at the Valletta Waterfront. Salt will be taking the stage at 8pm.
Tickets for Winter Moods’ concert are selling fast, and it is expected to be one of the major events this summer. The Winter Moods concert is the main Vodafone Music Jam event of the year.
Bay Music Award winners and Malta Music Award nominated Salt started out in 2003 to animate youth meetings and got their big break in 2005 when they were invited to perform at a youth festival in Germany. This led the band to release their debut album Hello Truth in 2006.
Salt have received international acclaim by being included in a compilation CD in Canada alongside some of the best artists on the scene in occasion of the International Eucharistic Congress being held in Quebec next year. The CD, entitled Gift of God, has already been released internationally and has attracted the attention of critics and the general public alike. The album has in fact been nominated for Special Events/Compilation Album of the Year by the UCMVA as well as the Canadian Gospel Music Association.
Recently Salt returned to the studio to record new material and recently launched Jars of Clay. The single marks an evolution for the band’s sound into more adventurous territory, while still retaining their unmistakable feel.
